Lakes: The three biggest natural lakes: Balaton, Lake Velencei, Lake Tisza. There are some artificial lakes (after some mining activity), and a few lakes in caves. Diving activity is not representative in natural lakes. Eg. you need permission to descend in Balaton. Diving in artificial lakes is usually free of charge, but there are a few private lakes, where the owner requires some charge for diving.

Water temperature: Maximum water temperature is about 14-20 degrees Celsius in artificial lakes, 20-26 degrees Celsius in natural lakes.

Visibility: Visibility is usually low: about 2-6 meters. When the water is colder, and there are no bathers in the lakes, the visibility is better.
Bottom of lakes are usually muddy.
